5 out of 5 stars Pink With A 150 years Of Experience.   August 31, 2007

For me this paper is a treat, the best aspects of "The Economist, The Wall Street Journal, & US News & World Report are all present here, without their defects. This is probably the best newspaper in the english speaking world. It never fails to inform, make one think deeply, & entertain. No this is not a celebrity shlock sheet. It truly covers the global news in detail with a wide range of perspectives. Tyler Brule & Lucy Kellaway write well, sometimes embarrassing their competitors & critics.

"The Financial Times," is a London-based daily covering in depth international coverage of industry intelligence & financial markets. Its pink color makes it distinctive as to stand out. The main reason to buy this newspaper are the supplements covering the industries of more countries than one thought existed. This paper has experts who actually prove regularly that they have earned that appellation. As their advertising slogan states: "No financial Times, no comment."

The paper is great, which is why I subscribed. BUT SYNAPSE VIA AMAZON IS TERRIBLE! I ORDERED IN MARCH AND DID NOT RECEIVE MY FIRST ISSUE TILL AUGUST!! And it now arrives a day late, and I get the weekend edition the following Wednesday.

5 out of 5 stars Best macroeconomic, financial market news of major financial papers   October 25, 2007

The FT offers extraordinary coverage of macroeconomics, financial markets and international economics and trade. Far better than the Wall Street Journal or Investors Daily. Its commentators and writers are top-notch. If macro, financial markets and international economics and markets are your interest this is the paper for you. Unlike the Wall Street Journal, very little coverage of mundane subjects such as impacts of tax changes on the restaurant business, U.S. political scene and Op-Eds such as those of Jerry Falwell demanding that "intelligent design" be taught in U.S. schools.

5 out of 5 stars Same $99 price but without the hassle   December 28, 2008

Scared off by many of these poor reviews, I was able to get the financial times directly from FT for the $99 price. Try googling financial times and looking at the sponsored adds. One of them is from the official FT website. I would give you the site, but then Amazon wouldn't post my review. You need to enter the site through the sponsored link though, or otherwise the price will appear as $298.

I've been a voracious FT-reader ever since we were required to subscribe to it at graduate Business School. Each issue is a book full of insightful news coverage, beautifully-crafted prose and humorous commentary. The weekend edition gives me reading pleasure and insight all week long.

The FT is my invaluable tool, keeping me up-to-date on all global Political Economy issues. I recommend it unreservedly.
